Touchstar is BAFE registered and designs and installs commercial fire alarm systems to meet BS 5839. Our technicians install and service fire alarm systems and extinguishers, and keep maintenance records current so they are ready for inspection. BAFE registration and BS 5839 support your compliance obligations; responsibility for fire safety on your premises stays with your organisation’s responsible person.
In most cases, yes. We survey your existing network before we install, so security systems such as video analytics and ANPR connect to your IT estate. Where your network cannot carry them, we design and install Wi-Fi networks or private 5G built for the load, so the security systems have the network they depend on.
Staff clock in and out with biometric readers or cards, and a mobile app covers staff who work remotely. Clock data passes into your HR and payroll systems, so hours are not rekeyed. Access control and time and attendance can share one system, giving you one record of who is on site.

We hold NSI Gold for CCTV system design and installation, BAFE registration for fire alarm systems, ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 27001:2022 for information security, and Cyber Essentials Plus for our own systems. These are independently assessed credentials covering how we design, install and manage systems. They support your own compliance position rather than guaranteeing a particular outcome.

Biometric data is special category data under UK GDPR, so you will usually need explicit consent and a data protection impact assessment, and staff should be offered an alternative. Our systems offer card and proximity options alongside biometric capture for that reason. We recommend consulting your Data Protection Officer and taking your own legal advice, and we will deploy the system in line with the approach you choose.
